About This Dog for Adoption

Taz's ideal home

Taz is a 3-year-old Great Dane crossbreed. Taz is a handsome boy who unfortunately has not had a lot of training or experience of the world growing up. He is looking for experienced owners who are interested and enjoy training a dog. Being a big boy, Taz is extremely strong and needs owners who are physically fit and able to handle him and work on his lead skills. Taz can live with children aged 16 years old and above and would like his own secure garden where he can play off lead. Taz loves to explore but can find things distracting and would like a family who can walk him in local quiet areas, away from lots of traffic. Taz has previously made doggy friends, however he needs owners who can work on his social skills with him at home. He would like a quiet home with someone who can be with him throughout the day and build up leaving hours slowly. Taz is a very handsome boy who loves playing with his toys. He is a great dog with lots of potential, who needs someone who can help him shine!

Could you be Taz's perfect match?

Taz is a big boy who can be very bouncy and excitable. He loves running around and playing with his toys! Taz finds new things very exciting and always wants to explore! He can be easily distracted and would like owners who understand this and are happy to work through this with him. He has not had much experience travelling in a car and would like owners who can build this up slowly with him. He absolutely loves his toys and loves to bound around and stretch his big legs! Taz adores his people and would make a great addition to a family looking to work with a big lad!

AWE licence number 176240 by West Lothian Council.

Great Dane Puppy Buying Checklist

We highly recommend every buyer reads through the below advice when purchasing or rehoming a Great Dane.

  • View the animal in the place it was born and raised - check for genuine home environments if buying privately, or the quality of the breeders set-up if applicable.
  • If viewing a puppy under 8 weeks, by law they MUST be seen with their mum.
  • Make sure the animal's old enough to be rehomed. 8 weeks should be the earliest a puppy can be rehomed.
  • By law, all dogs MUST be microchipped
  • Review and verify any documents, such as KC registration paperwork where applicable

Avoid Potential Scams

There are a number of red flags to look out for when purchasing a new puppy:

  • Seller demands a deposit without allowing you to see the dog first - never send any money before meeting the animal in person
  • Seller is reluctant to send you additional photos or videos
  • Seller offers to deliver the dog/puppy
  • Seller asks to meet in a mutual location
  • Seller uses fake or stolen photos from the internet. Always carry out a "Google image search".
  • Seller asks to immediately switch to communication off the Great Dane Owners website
  • Seller uses a different phone number to the one listed on the website - especially if that phone number is in one of the advert images

Although we have a number of automated systems in place to prevent scam and fraudulant adverts, these can never be 100% accurate and its important to use caution when buying online. We do not accept any responsibility for transactions between our users, especially when our safe buying advice is not followed.
